Dirac HD Player App Reviews

Unfortunately the full version crashes instantly on my iPad 3 and on my iPhone 5. I am unsure about the reason cause the limited version works. Please release an update and get into that matter.

This is an amazing app. It works very well. The difference in sound is very significant. Earpods are amazing on their own, however, with this app they gain $200 in value IMO. You can hear all the layers of music. All the frequencies in high fidelity. Highly recommended. iTunes Match is not yet supported though.

I own a set of P5s and C5s from Bowers and Wilkins…This app plus the new earPods that come bundled with your iPhone and iPod touch give both Bowers and Wilkins phones a serious run for their money. Although the P5s and the C5s have the edge when it comes to noise isolation (and therefore listening in noisy environments) I actually prefer listening to my earPods now in semi-quiet places (amazing sound signature and superior comfort and ergonomics—the apple engineered hardware always sits just right in my ear for maximum comfort and sound delivery, unlike the BW options which are much more fiddly about placement). Dont hesitate, just buy this app. Although, you cant directly access your iTunes Match library from within the app, the sound quality makes the minor inconvenience of pre-downloading music within the bundled music app barely worth a mention. Update: Dirac no longer accesses your music--even locally stored music. The effect was wonderful when it worked, but it would seem the developer is no longer interested or capable of supporting its own product.

Bought this app years ago, but they never updated it, with new iPhone this app does not work at all, money wasted.

I dont know how they do it (and neither does anyone else), but Rolls Royce, BMW, and Bentley use Dirac technology in their vehicles and they cant all be wrong. This app was specifically designed to improve the audio qualities of the ubiquitous basic iPhone/iPod/iPad Earphones and Earbuds based upon extensive analysis of their inherent designs. Mission accomplished. Youll be astounded by the improvements in frequency response and spatial imaging. Truly astounding, and HIGHLY recommended.

Sounds great. For me, two issues keep it from a 5: not very polished, and though it displays iTunes Match songs it cant play them and does a poor job letting you know which songs are playable and which are not.

I cant get the software to play one song. It grays all the songs out I tap and then freezes. Im on an iPhone 5 with the current IOS. Very frustrating because I really want this to work well. Id recommend trying the Lite version and making sure it works before paying for this version. Im hopeful its a glitch that will be addressed shortly.

It barely works with any songs and is very buggy. If they can release a new version that actually interfaces well with my iphone music app music collection, this will absolutely be my new primary music app.

The Dirac player (free or HD version) makes the Earpods sound as good as or better than any of my headphones (ranging from $200 to $700 USD), although the sound curve degrades when played on a headphone amp connected to the LOD port. Therefore a $700 headphone connected to a $1000 amp is out of reach of the Earpods sonically. Still, an amazing breakthrough for music lovers on a budget. Even the earbuds become hi-fi earphones with this player.

With Dirac HD enabled, the sound quality is on par with the built-in Music app. A bit muffled, but same ballpark.

The app does what it says. i use the ear pods and they sound even better. But the music player needs help.Songs cut off during playing, when you toto rewind the song to start over,it plays a different track. I like the app but it isnt reliable.

It could be possibly Ive been so accustom to using Beats that anything less, is, well crap. Im really mad I paid for this. Apples earpods sound amazing using the native music app.. This app not only failed to play my iTunes Match tracks, it stalled and crashed, MULTIPLE TIMES!! Do not, I repeat, DO NOT BUY THIS APP!!

your Apple OEM ear pods will sound. Ive been into headphones for a while and have too many different sets. I read about this app on Head-Fi and had to try it. It really really improves the sound of the apple units. I really never enjoyed listening to the stock ear pods before and would always grab my Shures or Etymotics. I still prefer both of those sets over the Apple/Dirac combo but not by much. This EQ really gives them life with better detail and clarity. I would say the bass is a touch heavy but still it doesnt bleed into the mids bad at all and really complements the overall sound and unsealed ear pods. A couple of nitpicks is the over all UI. I wish there was a way to add on top of the stock apple player. Also the EQ does limit your volume but that is expected. Overall a great app and easily worth the money.

When it was working it was great but now it wont open. Please fix this bug!
